50 participants comprising Facilities Managers, Quality, Safety, Health & Enviroment (QSHE) representatives, Executives and Supervisors from hospitals, plants and Central Workshop attended the Green Belt (GB) G5S Training in Ipoh from 1 to 3 September 2016, facilitated by Professor Sam Ho, founder of Hong Kong 5S Association, and assisted by his principal consultant, Dr. Ab. Ghani Mohd Hashim from SIRIM.
Participants were briefed on how 5S can be executed at their workplace as a tool to improve Safety, Hygiene, Quality, Productivity and Image (SHQPI) through practical learning that included a site visit and 5S audit of Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun, Ipoh with the objective to improve Quality, Environment, Delivery and reduce Cost (QEDC).
As this is a Train the Trainer (TTT) programme, the participants have been appointed as change agents to share and apply their knowledge at their respective work sites. The G5S programme in Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun, Ipoh is expected to be completed in January 2017, with the participants graduating with Blue Belts (i.e. Level 2 out of 3 in the G5S certification programme).
